ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

One of many late-War "paper projects," Heinkel's He-P.1078B was a single-seat, tailless fighter with 40-degree swept-back wings and a single HeS 011 turbojet engine.  The plane's most distinguishing feature was its duo-gondola design.  The pilot sat in the port-side pod; in the other was a radar system and two MK 108 30mm cannon.

No P.1078B's were ever actually produced.

"Projekt Fleiger" was the name of a Japanese "trading kit" series featuring German concept and experimental aircraft from World War II.  Produced in tiny 1/144 scale, these pre-painted models were not identified in their box art; buyers "took their chances," just as they would with trading cards.

This He-P.1078B was from Series 2 of "Projekt Fleiger," and has been significantly repainted and re-decaled.
