ABOUT THE DESIGN:    ABOUT THE MODEL:
John Carpenter's 1982 remake of "The Thing" is considered to be one of the great sci-fi/horror classics of all time. The tale of a clever, shape-shifting alien that invades an isolated scientific station in Antarctica, the movie employs a wide range of pre-CGI prosthetic, puppetry and mechanical effects to generate shocks, terror and chills at a level never duplicated since.

Although seen only briefly in the movie's prologue, the saucer that brings the alien lifeform to earth is a fan favorite. An elegant take on the classic flying saucers of old, the detailed miniature features a Aztek paint scheme that should prove a worthy challenge to even the most seasoned modeler!
