ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

The "Liabe" was a mothership/carrier craft used to transport two smaller fighters: the boxy "Comet Fire" and the sleek "Galaxy Runner."  Its wings would fold open to position the smaller fighters in an upright position just prior to launch.

The "Starship Liabe" was one of three nifty little model kits released by Entex in conjunction with the Japanese sci-fi movie "Message from Space," which was one of numerous lower-budget space operas produced in the wake of 1977's megahit, "Star Wars."  The kit came with both the "Liabe" mothership and detachable mini-versions of the "Comet Fire" and "Galaxy Runner."  Bandai later released this same kit with new box art.

This model is an original Entex issue.
