ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

A principal vehicle of the Perry Rhodan sci-fi novel series, the Sol is a 8 km-long dumbbell-shaped starship that is home to thousands.  Having traveled the cosmos for more than 13 centuries, the ship is a self-contained world whose inhabitants know no other way of life than that aboard this enormous vessel.

In the late 1990s, Revell of Germany released a series of four models based on spacecraft designs featured in Europe's super-popular Perry Rhodan novel series.  This was the first time that a major model manufacturer had ever produced a model line based on novel illustrations instead of TV or motion picture designs.

The Sol came with an extensive decal sheet, but not a display stand, requiring the builder to fashion his/her own.

This model was built from an original issue.
