| In 1943, Messerschmitt launched the P.1092 project to develop a multi-role jet fighter. This fourth version moved the cockpit from the fuselage rear to the far forward position to give the pilot a better view. There was still room for four MK 108 30mm cannon, but they had to be moved farther back to accommodate the cockpit tub. The tail and control systems were mostly borrowed by Messerschmitt's own Me.262. |
