ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

The Kazon were a former slave race that ultimately overthrew their Trabe oppressors and then grabbed their starships as well.  All Trabe/Kazon ships had a similar look, including this basic oblong fuselage, and most also featured the distinctively front-end fin.

Although the Kazon were some of the least interesting adversaries ever featured on a "Star Trek" series, their ships were kinda cool.

The "Kazon Ship" was one of three large-scale "Voyager" models released by Revell/Monogram in 1995.  Although all three ships -- the Voyager, the Maquis ship and this Kazon ship -- were subsequently released together in a smaller scale package -- the only follow-up kit was the totally unnecessary Kazon Torpedo.  And then R/M went out of the "Voyager" business altogether citing disappointing sales.

This model was built from an original issue.
