ABOUT THE DESIGN

ABOUT THE KIT

In the early 21st Century, Light Force, Inc. produced a series of "UFO" models based on both "reported" and fully fictional designs.  One of their most interesting products was the E.V.E. (Exploration Vessel of Earth), a small injection-molded styrene model of a craft supposedly 216 feet in diameter and containing an elegant battery-driven internal lighting kit.  Although a purely custom design, the saucer captured the look and feel of alien "saucer ships" popular since the 1970s.

The EVE Saucer was unusual in many respects.

  • Although a "garage kit," it was injection-molded rather than resin.

  • It came with a battery-powered internal lighting kit that rotated colored LEDs in sequence around the craft's lower 'core'

  • The upper and lower sections were held together magnetically to allow convenient access to the lighting kit controls

  • The three-legged 'stand' appeared to be a common pizza box center arch

This model was built from an original issue.
