Beginning her life as a Intersun luxury transport designated Colonial Heavy 798, this 277-foot-long medium-range spacecraft was re-christened Colonial One when it became the de-facto headquarters vessel for Education Secretary-turned-President Laura Roslyn following the devastating Cylon attack that all but exterminated the human race. The ship's interior was subsequently refitted to provide the necessary office space to accommodate the new President and her support staff as they attempt to lead the approximately 50,000 human survivors to the mythical planet called "Earth."
