ABOUT THE KIT |
|
Based on the hit 1966 sci-fi movie of the same name, ABC's "Fantastic Voyage" was an animated series that followed the exploits of the Combined Miniaturized Defense Force (CMDF), a top-secret government unit capable of shrinking people and vehicles to microscopic size. The movie's "Proteus" submarine was replaced with the aptly named "Voyager," a craft that more closely resembled a cross between "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea"'s Flying Sub and a delta-winged jet airplane. |
Released by Aurora in 1969, this model remained in the company's catalogue until 1971, but has been out of production ever since. Although lacking decals or surface detail (befitting its cartoon origins), the model is today a "Holy Grail" kit highly coveted by Fantastic Plastic modelers throughout North America. |
