France's Roland Payen was one of the most innovative aircraft designers of the 1930s. This 1935 design incorporated a Melot ramjet into one of his delta wing/canard airframe concepts. When the ramjet proved unavailable, he completed his prototype using an 180 hp Regnier piston engine. |
