ABOUT THE DESIGN:    ABOUT THE MODEL:
Dr. Alexander Lippisch (1894-1976) was a pioneer in delta-winged and VTOL aircraft concepts.  Born in Germany, his research led directly to the development of Germany's WWII ME-163 "Komet" rocket-powered fighter.

During WWII, Lippisch designed a variety of small, low-cost fighters for Berlin's consideration.   His P.115 positioned a Jumo jet engine directly behind the pilot provide the craft with a strong center of gravity.  Like many "Luf '46" designs, Lippisch's P.115 never got beyond the design stage.
