The final
months of World War II found the Japanese military scrambling for
better -- and cheaper -- ways to defend its home islands for encroaching
American forces. To this end, various "Kamikaze" suicide planes were
devised, high-speed piloted missiles that could be flown directly into
American bombers. One of these designs was the rocket-powered IJA/IJN
"Rammer," a small, single-pilot aircraft. Although it advanced as
far as the design stage, the War ended before the plane could be put into
production. |
